Located in Norfolk County, The Town of Franklin has a city form of government although it chose to keep “The Town of” in their official name. At the time of incorporation, the citizens chose the name of Franklin to honor Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin donated 116 books to the library so that residents could borrow the books at no charge; this library became the first public library in the United States.
Commuter Rail Service to Boston and Dean College are nearby. There is easy access to Routes 495 and 140 provide an abundance of opportunities nearby to shop, dine out, attend events at Gillette Stadium and the Xfinity Center, along with many indoor and outdoor recreation venues.
